About our Assistant Pastor - Keith Neds

Salvation:
"When I was 6, I went forward in a Gospel service at our church because my friend did, but I really didn't understand how to be saved. Later my mother explained to me how to be "born again". After speaking with her, I went outside by myself, knelt behind the old ice house on our farm, confessed to God that I was a sinner and accepted the sacrifice of Jesus for my sins. After college at the age of 23, I went through a deep crisis during which I considered the option of suicide. At this critical time, a friend encouraged me to go to a week-long seminar where God's Word was taught and applied. At the end of the week, on Saturday afternoon, June 28, 1980, I confessed to God my pride, sensuality, and lack of any ability on my part to deal with my sin. I cried to God for His help, based on Hebrews 11:6, and by His grace and mercy, He made good on His promises! I began studying and memorizing the Word like never before, and saw God take away my sinful habits."

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6

Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education with a Math Minor from Bob Jones University, 1980.
Graduate work in Math Education, also at BJU

Work and Ministry:
Went on a BJU summer mission trip in Utah with Tony Miller in 1984.
Worked at the Huntington National Bank in Columbus, OH in IS for 19 years
Served at Berean Bible Church in Dublin, OH after college as music director, deacon, elder, worker with VBS, Back Yard Bible Clubs, Bible Camp, and chalk talks
Moved from Marysville, OH to Rockwall, TX in 2004 to serve as part-time assistant pastor at Rockwall Bible Church
Currently also works part-time at Hobby Lobby in Rockwall in the framing department

Family:
Married Joy Mitchell in 1987 after meeting on a summer mission trip. Joy received her nursing degree from BJU in 1987. God blessed the Neds with 13 children - Benjamin (21), Rebekah (20), Hannah (18), Lydia (17), Seth (15), Esher (13), Rachel (11), Julia (10), Daniel (8), Faith (6), David (4), Joshua (1 1/2), and Karis (1 mth)
