ABOUT OUR PASTOR

• SALVATION: Lovingly saved by God's grace at age 6 at an Old Fashioned Camp Meeting in Missouri
• CALL OF GOD FOR MINISTRY: Graciously called to serve the Lord at age 12
• LIFE VERSES: "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 15:57,58).
• EARLY AREAS OF MINISTRY:
    While in High School
  Mission Trips to the Virgin Islands, Haiti, Native American Ministry in Arizona, Drama Camps with The Academy of Arts

  Clearwater Christian College, 1980, BA in Bible & Biblical Literature;
  Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, 1983, M.Div.;
  Bob Jones University, Capital Bible Seminary, Dallas Theological Seminary, Additional Graduate Studies
• PERSONAL:
  Married in 1980 to Della Rae Cox, daughter of a Church Planting Pastor, Rev. Graydon Cox of Sunbury, Ohio. (Della graduated with a BA in Bible from Clearwater Christian College in 1980.)
  Woody & Della are blessed with seven children: Justin (22), Ellisha (21), (both piano performance majors at Bob Jones University), Raechel (19) a cosmetology major at BJU, Jared (16), Nathan (14), Kenan (13), Abigail (6)

  YOUTH PASTOR-Inter City Baptist Church, Allen Park, MI, 1981-1983.
  PASTOR-Garden City Baptist, Martinez, GA, 1984-1993.

• AREAS OF INTEREST:
  The Proffitts have educated their children at home.
  They built their log home with help of friends from church & neighbors and God's Grace!!
  They have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a bird, a horse and a pig!
  Della has written a Bible Study for Ladies entitled, Insights for Today from Women in the Bible.
  Woody has designed and implemented a youth curriculum entitled Victors in Christ.
  Woody, Della and others from RBC have created 7 different VBS curricula. (see "VBS")
